Constructions zones are areas in which drivers need to be particularly mindful of what is going on around them. These areas could have posted instructions including detours or reduced speeds that drivers need to heed. If a driver does not adjust to the changes in the traffic, a serious collision could take place that may lead to parties filing personal injury or other civil claims.

A construction zone was the scene of a serious accident that led to one death and multiple injuries in Ohio. It was reported that the driver of a tractor trailer did not yield to other vehicles that were reducing speed while in this area. As a result, the truck hit a vehicle that then went on to strike five additional vehicles.

The man in the first vehicle that was hit suffered fatal injuries in the accident and was declared dead at the site of the crash. Two other individuals were taken by helicopter to an area hospital with injuries that were considered life-threatening. Three additional parties were also injured, but they are expected to survive. The report indicated that the tractor trailer driver would face charges, but the specific charges were unknown.

Because the accident resulted in a fatality and multiple injuries, wrongful death and personal injury claims could be a possible outcome. Those parties who were affected in the crash may want to explore such options to determine whether filing a claim could be right for them. These claims may allow for the pursuit of monetary restitution from the driver considered responsible for damages as provided under Ohio law.
