Nursing home abuse could concern Ohio residents

When Ohio residents must admit one of their loved ones to a nursing home, the decision is often made so that their family member can receive the best care. Unfortunately, some nursing home residents could potentially be subjected to abuse. If families learn that their loved one had been mistreated by nursing home staff, they will likely be devastated and may want to consider legal action.

A situation in a nearby state involving such abuse may interest concerned parties. It was recently reported that three individuals had been formally charged with neglect and abuse of nursing home residents. The individuals were reported as being a 22-year-old female, a 49-year-old female and a 30-year-old male. The charged parties are no longer employees of the facility where the abuse reportedly took place.

All three individuals face various and numerous counts of criminal abuse, endangerment, assault and other allegations. It was reported that the situation from which the charges stem spanned over several months and involved multiple nursing home residents as victims. A spokeswoman stated that the company is giving its cooperation as the investigation continues and that the nursing home does not tolerate abuse.

It can be harrowing to learning that a loved one faced abuse from parties who were supposed to care for them. As any concerned family member would likely want the situation to be rectified, looking into legal options for civil cases may be beneficial. By filing a claim, Ohio residents who believe their loved one was abused in a nursing home may be able to pursue compensation.
